A chronicle

This did not come from haste.
Nor was it made to keep pace with anyone.

It began with a belief
that some flavors deserve time,
and some moments deserve to remain unoccupied.

We chose to preserve what once existed
before everything had to be loud or alike.
We chose restraint.
We chose balance.
We chose waiting.

This gelato does not ask to be explained.
It simply rests before you
quiet,
and honest with time.

If you find yourself lingering a little longer,
or forgetting the hour for a brief moment,
then it has fulfilled its purpose.

This place promises nothing,
except a small stillness
that deserves to be kept.

To whom it may concern,
or to no one in particular,

I never intended to make a dessert brand.
I only felt that the world had become too fast,
and that we had forgotten how it once felt
to wait without impatience.

What you are holding was not born from trends,
nor from an ambition to grow large or loud.
It began with a simple desire:
to create a small place where time does not have to perform.

I am drawn to what existed before everything
was optimized, sweetened, and hurried.
A time when food was allowed to be quiet,
when flavor did not need to impress,
and when meaning was not explained in excess.

This gelato is made slowly,
with the intention that it rests in your hands
without urgency.
You may think,
or you may think of nothing at all.

If it allows you to sit a little longer,
or softens a day without announcing itself,
that is enough.

This is not meant to be a favorite of many,
but a refuge for some
when they need it.
